My family and I have just returned from a visit to your beautiful Sandy Beach Condos.
The condo was all it shows on the website and more! Beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds, high end appliances and super clean throughout. Really more like a hotel than a condo. They even had those little mini shampoos that my kids love.
Of course we loved those million dollar views!

Some points about staying in Las Palomas in the off season:
We loved the resort and it was super safe. Our kids (age 10 and 12) felt free to go down to the pool by themselves or to go get icecream from the restaurant. The staff were so friendly and kind to the kids.
There were very few families there and we had a lovely quiet time.

Some resort facilities are shut down – we saw a Kids Club that is for age 5-10 that is probably great in the high season. The lazy rivers and most pools are unheated but they keep one pool in each phase going. Also two hot tubs, one at a lower temperature for families and one for adults only. The family hot tub was a huge draw for our children.
Phase 1 pool bar was closed so most people congregated around Phase 2. Phase 2 pool bar was open and has the usual food and drinks. You can get a card at reception which allows you to charge your pool tab.

Speaking of food, the restaurant is great. We especially liked the Sunday buffet ($20 per adult, kids under 11 are free) which had an unimaginable quantity of high class buffet food. We had Sunday brunch there and were able to drive straight home to Phoenix that afternoon without stopping once 🙂

Impeccable maintenance throughout the resort even extends to the beach where we saw guys out raking the sand early in the morning. It was a little too cold for me to swim – but others were braving it. It was a perfect weekend for reading books on a quiet sunny beach while the children played in the surf or in the pool.

Some notes on the vendors -if you’ve never been to Rocky Point, you’ll quickly see that vendors walk the beach and offer you a big variety of items.
Prices vary and they expect to bargain so here’s my experience from this weekend:

  • My daughter’s hair braids : $30
  • Massage on the beach : $25 for 30 minutes or $45 for an hour (look for Rosa)
  • Sun Hat: $15
  • Woven Bracelets : $5
  • Silver Necklace : $20

I’m not good at bargaining so I might have paid way more than most of you. I’d be interested to see what else others have paid. Run to Rosa for a massage though – it might well have been the highlight of my trip.
